Bright sparks at Loreto College in St Albans are celebrating excellent GCSE results, particulary as over 26 per cent of pupils achieved eight or more A*/A grades.
Among those celebrating the impressive results today is the school’s head of English, Margaret Tinsley, who is retiring after 43 years of teaching, and is thrilled that over 90 per cent of students achieved A*-C grades in English language.
Headteacher Maire Lynch said: “After the tremendous success at A-Level, I am so pleased that the GCSE students have excelled once again, especially in English and maths. Congratulations to everyone.”
