An information and Q&A evening is being held for parents interested in the new secondary school proposed for Harpenden's Green Belt.

This follows last month’s announcement that contracts have been exchanged for the site, with Herts county council now in discussion with the Education Funding Agency and the Harpenden Secondary Education Trust (HSET) to take the proposal further.

The meeting is being held to help parents find out the next steps towards construction of the school, earmarked for farmland on the corner of Lower Luton Road and Common Lane.

The speakers will include Philip Waters, on behalf of the trust, along with project manager Tony Smith, Herts county councillors and officers.

Parents will have the planning process explained to them, and be advised on how they can be involved in the project.

Roundwood Park School is hosting the meeting at 7.30pm on Monday, February 22.
