AFTER last week's record-breaking A-level results, GCSE students at St Albans High School for Girls have also been celebrating huge success.

Students achieved A* or A grades in nearly 85 per cent of all subjects and more than half gained top grades in every subject.

Local girl Emily Loud had an even bigger reason to celebrate after finding out that she was one of the top 10 students in the country for English Literature.

Head teacher Jacqualyn Pain said: "It is wonderful to see these students' hard work rewarded. I am delighted that their hard work - and that of their teachers - has been rewarded in this way.
