GO karting, a jungle run and a bouncy castle were among the attractions which resulted in visitors flocking to a St Albans school fair.

Bernard’s Heath School in Sandridge Road raised 7,500 for its infant and junior schools. As well as the attractions for the more energetic, a selection of food was on offer, much of it made by parents. The traditional Indian art of Mehndi proved popular on the day. Organised by a group of parents, the older children in particular enjoyed having henna tattoos applied.

PTA chair Christie Drouillet said: “It was a lot of work organising it but everyone helped out and it showed a great community spirit within the school.”
