IT MAY not have been a case of ‘fire burn and cauldron bubble’ but there was definitely a lot of toil going on at a village school in St Albans recently.
An Olympic-themed week was enjoyed by pupils and staff at Colney Heath JMI School, including a torch relay and the lighting of a cauldron.
The week was organised by PE subject leader Claire Weston, one of 14 torchbearers carrying the Olympic flame through St Albans on Sunday, July 8, and staff.
Herts county councillor for the Colneys Chris Brazier, who attended the lighting of the cauldron, joked: “I was invited because Seb Coe couldn’t make it.
“It looked very good, and the whole school was involved.”
