St Albans and Harpenden children win safety poster art competition

Budding young artists from St Albans and Harpenden primary schools won a competition to design safety posters.
Primary school children were invited to enter the competition after taking part in Crucial Crew safety sessions on dealing with everyday hazards.
The winners were Ben Pendell from Aldwickbury School in Harpenden for his poster on cyberbullying, Jack Ritchie from Maple School in St Albans for his poster on road safety and Jonah Howgego, also from Maple, for his fire safety poster.
Mayor cllr Rosemary Farmer, who presented the children with prizes, said: “I was really impressed with these talented young artists and their winning posters which convey important messages about safety. The competition is always popular and attracted more than 100 entries this year from young people.”
Crucial Crew and the art competition are run by the Community Safety Partnership.
