A Year One pupil won a competition to have a CBeebies star visit her school and take part in a special assembly.
Phil Gallagher, better known as ‘Mister Maker’ on CBeebies, visited Samuel Ryder Academy in Drakes Drive on Friday, March 16.
Jessica Barnes Wilson, in Year One, won a competition organised by the Alban Arena, which was open to any children who attended the Aladdin pantomime over Christmas.
Mister Maker visited Jessica’s class for an arts and crafts session and took part in an assembly where he told jokes to all the primary school children. He also taught the Year One children how to make pompom bags to take home.
Assistant headteacher Melissa Wood said: “The children are big fans of Mister Maker and so we were thrilled for Jessica to win this prize. We are always keen to give our pupils the chance to engage in new experiences, so well done Jessica!”
