Dave Cousins at Nicholas Breakspear School

Author Dave Cousins caused roars of laughter when he visited Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School recently.

He told his audience of Year 7 students from the secondary school and Year 5s from St Bernadette’s Primary School about his new book Charlie Merrick’s Misfits as well as encouraging pupils to write their own stories.

He also encouraged them to read a variety of book genres to find different writing styles as well as giving them useful tips on how to win a fight against a bear.

The author has promised to return to the school after the publication of his next book which is due out in May 2016.
