BEST-ever A-level rates have been secured by girls at St Albans High School.
92.3 per cent of all grades were at A*-B level and almost half the girls achieved at least one A* grade, of whom seven had A* in three or more subjects.
First indications are that 90 per cent of girls have gained places at their first choice of university with eight of those destined for Oxford and Cambridge.
At AS level, 91 per cent of all grades were at A or B with 28 girls achieving A grades in all their subjects.
Headmistress Rosemary Martin said: “There has been much media speculation over recent days around the A* grades and what has been termed, ‘the scramble’ for places at university.
“I am so pleased that the wonderful results they have achieved have secured the university places of their choice.”
