OUTSTANDING results at both A-level and the International Baccalaureate (IB) have been notched up by students at Sandringham School in St Albans.

Many A-level students achieved A* grades and head Alan Gray said: “I am delighted our students have performed so well and that their efforts have been rewarded with some exceptional grades.

“The vast majority have secured their first preference place at university or are taking a planned gap year. These results demonstrate the outstanding work of our sixth form and the BeauSandVer consortium and show how powerful sixth form provision is in St Albans.”

Among the individual performances of note were Katy Foxall with 42 IB points to study law at Kings College, Jack Roberts with one A* and three A grades who is off to the London School of Economics to study geography, Hannah Brown with three straight A’s to study veterinary science at Bristol, Michael Doherty with two A* and one A to study History at UCL and Jamie Williams with one A* and two A’s to study medicine at Imperial College, Elie Wollfe with two A’s and a B to study medicine at Nottingham and Tom Svejstrup with two A* and two A’s taking a gap year.
