THURSDAY was a day of relief and celebration at St George’s School in Harpenden when pupils received their A-level results.
This year more than 40 per cent of all entries were graded at A* or A, and 88 per cent of the results were at the A* to C pass mark.
Thirteen delighted students achieved more than 900 UCAS points - the equivalent of three A*s - with former school captain William Forrester coming top of the class.
He earned three A*s and two A grades securing his a place at Wadham College, Oxford to study English language and literature.
Assistant Headteacher Ben Cullis said: “Right across the ability range there were real successes for hard working pupils, and pupils, parents and teachers deserve to be extremely proud of them.”
