The Queen and the royal family were not the only ones celebrating her 90th birthday last month - local schoolchildren marked the occasion as well.
Staff and pupils at Watling View School in St Albans dressed up in the style of each of the nine decades she has reigned, from the flappers of the 20s through the war years and on to the hippies of the 60s and 70s.
They paraded in their finery before hold a ‘street party’ in the playground and enjoying cakes and party food sent in by parents and carers to mark the momentous occasion.
