The racism and nationwide turmoil is touched upon but once the World Cup comes we’re left with just a sports movie. There are a thousand issues that could have been debated and speculated – but they weren’t.

The star power of Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon pulls it film back from potentially ‘bad’ territory but the movie still felt lacking.

Rugby fans will love it and historical buffs will admire it but everyone else will be left a little empty.
