A driver was taken to hospital last night after a collision involving two cars in a St Albans road.

A spokesman for St Albans fire station confirmed that two engines attended the incident in Coopers Green Lane at 9.13pm last night.

He said: “Initial reports were that people were trapped in the cars but when fire service got there they were out so officers did a scene safety assessment.”

A spokeswoman from the East of England Ambulance Service Trust confirmed that an ambulance and officer attended and treated one patient who was taken to Lister Hospital.
