A DRIVER who was cut free from his car after a crash on a busy main road yesterday (Thursday) evening has been arrested.

The collision happened at around 6.30pm on the A5 in Markyate at the junction with London Road and involved a Vauxhall Sierra and a Renault Clio.

The 21-year-old driver of the red Clio, from Luton, had to be cut free by firefighters before an ambulance took him to hospital with leg injuries.

He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

The other driver involved, a man from Bletchley in his 40s, was uninjured.
