THE future is an ‘appy’ prospect for a St Albans schoolgirl who has her sights set on moving to America after winning thousands of pounds to launch her mobile password app.
Nina Devani, 14, secured £10,000 from entrepreneur Suleman Sacranie to develop her app, which allows users to set personalised prompts so they can remember their passwords.
The St Albans High School for Girls student came up with the idea for Prompt Me Nina when her father fell victim to internet hackers and was forced to change all of his online passwords.
When she saw how difficult it was for him to remember dozens of new passwords she decided to create an app to help others with the same problem.
Armed with her business idea Nina contacted Mr Sacranie, the founder of web-based wholesale business 99pwholesaler.com, who was so impressed he decided to invest his own money to turn her dream into a reality.
Nina, of Luton, said: “I knew I had to get some financial backing so I contacted Suleman Sacranie who I met through a school project. I pitched the idea to him and he decided to invest. It was really uplifting, I thought if he likes the idea enough to invest there has got to be something in it.”
Prompt Me Nina is currently only available for Android but in the future she hopes to extend it to Mac and PC, and would like to pursue other ventures in technology.
