Forty-one homes in St Albans were left without power throughout the night after a suspected underground cable fault interrupted electricty supply.
A spokesperson from UK Power Networks said: “Engineers are working to restore power to 41 customers in the Spicer Street and George Street areas of St Albans since a suspected underground cable fault interrupted supplies at 8.32pm last night.
“Excavation crews worked through the night, and more staff have been sent to site today, to locate the fault – which originally affected 14 customers, and from 7.30am today affected a further 27. We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused and will restore supplies as quickly as is safely possible.”
