Don’t miss your chance to join St Albans Race for Life

Time is running out to sign up for the forthcoming St Albans Race for Life event.
Organised by Cancer Research UK, the 5K and 10K runs will be taking place in Verulamium Park at 11am on Sunday July 26.
Cancer Research UK wants to encourage as many women as possible to join the ‘pink army’ and the 2,000 women who have already signed up to join the fight against cancer in St Albans.
Courtney Culverhouse, event manager for Race for Life in Hertfordshire, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that so many women have signed up for Race for Life in St Albans. But we still have places left so we are urging women to sign up as soon as possible.”
Women taking part in the event are encouraged to do a ‘wardrobe workout’ before their event, using the donation bag they receive in their entry pack to bring any unwanted clothes or accessories that are in a good condition with them to the event.
Each donation bag could help to raise up to £25 for the groundbreaking research carried out by Cancer Research UK.
Participants and supporters are warned that there are no Race for Life car parking spaces available at Verulamium Park. Given that there are strict parking restrictions in the roads surrounding the park, people attending the event are advised to use the multi-storey car parks in the centre of St Albans.
Cancer Research has said they expect to raise around £225,000 through St Albans Race for Life. Entry closes on Thursday July 23 and contestants must enter via the website or call 0300 123 0770 if they want to participate.
