Dancing with the stars on Sunday and helping to raise money for Comic Relief at the same time were St Albans performing arts entrepreneur Zoe Jackson and local childminder and Popdancer Annie Robb.

Zoe, founder and director of award winning performing arts company Living the Dream, led one of the half hour slots in the six-hour Danceathon in aid of Comic Relief which took place at The SSE Arena, Wembley, on Sunday.

She and her dancers were joined on stage by celebrities including Paralympic medallist Ade Adepitan, Rufus Hound, Judy Murray and Claudia Winkleman.

Zoe said: “I was so excited to be involved with the Danceathon for Comic Relief. Teaching Wembley and the nation to dance for such a good cause was so much fun – definitely a huge moment for me.”

Annie, who goes to Popdance Fit classes set up by local mum Sue Wybrow, danced with some of the same celebrities as well as Davina McCall and Strictly Come Dancing winner Caroline Flack.

Zoe’s involvement with Comic Relief is not over yet. Today, Red Nose Day, she and her dancers will join Dermot O’Leary to perform a flash mob as he nears the end of his 24-hour danceathon.

And if that wasn’t enough, they will be rushing back to St Albans to perform at the Mayor’s Ball at Sopwell House in aid of Zoe’s charity, the Dream Foundation, which supports disadvantaged young people bu giving them access to the arts.

Zoe set up the Living the Dream Performing Arts Company at the age of 16 in 2006 to inspire young people and to subsidise her own performing arts education. Over the last nine years Living the Dream has grown to include a school of performing arts, a professional dance company and a talent agency.
