A St Albans restaurant provided a rest stop for cyclists completing a charity ride from Birmingham to London.

Veer Dhara on Hatfield Road received the SACA Charity Bike Ride group on Sunday, July 29 and served them tea, coffee, samosas and fried chips and gave them access to restrooms.

Darshit Hora said: “I feel immensely proud for being able to support SACA for the ninth year in a row - the charity organisation that invites all age groups and religions to participate for a good cause.

“In years to come, we will continue to support SACA and all the local charities for the betterment of the society.”

Over the last 32 years, the ride has raised in excess of £560,000 in aid of different children’s charity groups and this year it supported Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

After stopping at Veer Dhara, the riders went on to Radlett then the finishing line in Southall.
