Traffic delays are easing from a high of two hours after a collision between junction six and five on the M25 near St Albans.

The incident involving a car and a van at around 6.30am this morning caused three out of four lanes to be closed.

There were reports the incident also affected traffic on the A414 near London Colney.

The van has now been recovered, and the car is currently being recovered from lane one.

Traffic is expected to flow normally very soon once the car is removed.

Its driver received minor injuries.

The Highways Agency said the three lanes are expected to open “imminently”.

There are still delays on the M1 between junction 6a and 7, both northbound and southbound, after two adjacent incidents. One involved two heavy goods vehicles and a car.

There are significant delays on the southbound side of the M1 due to the incident.
