A BABY deer was rescued by firefighters after getting trapped in some metal railings at the weekend.

The fawn got stuck in the fence surrounding Clarence Park, St Albans, at around 7.30am on Sunday morning.

A crew from St Albans fire station cut the frightened deer free but it quickly leapt out of the reach of firefighters and ran away.
