THE motorcyclist who died after an accident on Wednesday has been named.

Jamie Hunter, aged 28, from Latium Close, Holywell Hill, St Albans, died hours after his black Yamaha motorcycle was in collision with a green Nissan saloon car along Sandridge Road.

The accident happened at around 8.30am near to the junction with Spencer Gate and part of the road was closed for more than three hours while investigations took place.

Mr Hunter was taken to the QE11 hospital in Welwyn Garden City with neck, back and chest injuries but died later that day.
