A cyclist was injured in a road accident during the height of yesterday’s torrential rain.
The male rider, whose age is unknown, escaped with just minor injuries to the nose and shoulder after being involved in a collision with a white Vauxhall Combo van at just before 5.30pm.
An ambulance and response car were dispatched to the scene, on the A1081 St Albans Road near Harpenden cricket ground, and the victim was transported to Luton and Dunstable Hospital for treatment.
The road was cleared by 7.28pm. Police would like to speak to any witnesses on the non-emergency number 101.
