A CYCLIST was found lying in a St Albans road last night (Thursday) after a suspected hit and run.
The 47-year-old man suffered serious head injuries and was discovered on Homewood Road at 11.30pm with his pedal bike nearby.
A doctor and an ambulance attended the scene to stabilise him before he was taken to a specialist trauma unit at St Mary’s Hospital in London where he is still being treated.
Police say it is not clear how the man was injured but it’s possible another vehicle was involved that failed to stop.
Witnesses with information are urged to contact the police on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
