Cricket club burglary near Radlett

PUBLISHED: 16:08 07 September 2012

THE police are still seeking information about a burglary at a cricket club near Radlett, one month after it occurred.

Between 5pm on Thursday August 9 and 10am on Monday August 13, offenders forced entry into a brick storage garage through a locked door at Shenley Cricket Centre, off Radlett Lane, Shenley.

Once inside they allegedly took a canvas part of a marquee that was being stored in a carry bag and left the premises in an unknown direction.

DS David Smith, from the Safer Neighbourhood Team in Hertsmere, said: “This was an unusual item to take but nevertheless I’m keen to catch the culprits and would like to speak to anyone who believes they may have seen the canvas marquee since the time of the burglary.”

Given the size and weight of the bag, it is believed the offenders might have made their getaway in a vehicle, driving down the dirt track that leads to the club.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
