AN accident is blocking the A405 in Chiswell Green, causing major problems for the rush-hour traffic.
The two-car collision happened at around 4.30pm this afternoon (Monday) on the southbound carriageway between the roundabout at the Noke Hotel and the junction with Tippendell Lane.
The incident involved a black Ford Escort Finesse and a silver Vauxhall Vectra.
Firefighters are currently on the scene and are thought to be cutting a casualty out of one of the vehicles.
A police spokesperson said the carriageway is completely blocked and was unable to say when the damaged vehicles would be recovered from the road.
