A man who was charged with 14 alleged firearm and ammunition offences following a police raid of his house last year appeared in court this morning.

Alan Tissington, 49, was subjected to a raid of his home in Windmill Avenue, St Albans, in September and had a number of First and Second World War artefacts and munitions seized during the Herts Police-led operation.

He appeared at St Albans Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday) charged with seven either-way offences and seven indictable-only offences and was committed to St Albans Crown court for a preliminary hearing and a plea and case hearing later this year.
