Motoring offences

Jason Daff, 40, of Longfield Road, Harpenden, was fined �85 plus �100 costs and awarded three penalty points for driving a coach without due care and attention in Baldock Road, Royston, on January 28, striking the kerb and causing the two rear windows to hit an aluminium roadside sign, shattering the glass and injuring passengers.

Migara Madurapperuma, 29, of How Wood, Park Street, was fined �147 plus �85 costs and awarded eight penalty points for driving without insurance or a licence on the M1 southbound between Junctions 5 and 4 on June 14.

David McQueen, 43, of Cragg Avenue, Radlett, was fined �135 plus �85 costs and awarded three penalty points for speeding at 36mph along the 30mph Park Street North, on January 13.

Sonali Gamage, 26, of How Wood, Park Street, was fined �110 plus �85 costs and awarded eight penalty points for driving without insurance or a licence along the M1 southbound between Junctions 5 and 4 on June 14.

Drugs offences

Peter Mack, 29, of Alder Close, Park Street, was fined �130 plus �100 costs after being found in possession of just under a gram of cocaine, in St Albans on July 28.

Peter Hardey, 26, of Doggetts Way, was fined �50 plus �65 costs for possession of a gram of cannabis in St Albans on July 12.

Threatening behaviour

Ryan Machell, 18, of Slimmons Drive, St Albans, was given a 10 week prison sentence suspended for 12 months, ordered to carry out 80 hours unpaid community work and pay �85 costs for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence towards residents of Grosvenor Road, St Albans, on May 19.

Michael Ellis, 20, of New Kent Road, St Albans, was fined �70 plus �55 costs for using threatening, abusive or insulting words within the hearing of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress, on August 12 in St Albans.

Assault

Mark Alyson, 40, of Newgate Close, St Albans, was ordered to attend treatment for alcohol dependency for six months and pay compensation of �420 for carrying out an assault by beating in St Albans on April 22 and damaging an Armani ceramic watch worth �475.

TV licence evasion

Rianne Flanagan, 20, of Wells Close, St Albans, was fined �37 plus �75 costs for using a television without a licence on January 23 at the above address.

Gemma Ireland, 30, of Charrington Place, St Albans, was fined �200 plus �75 costs for using a television without a licence between December 23 and January 24 at the above address.

Barry Jakeman, 31, of St Peter’s Street, St Albans, was fined �200 plus �75 costs for using a television without a licence on January 24 at the above address.

Samir Taffer, 36, of Beech Road, St Albans, was fined �200 plus �75 costs for using a television without a licence between December 25 and January 26 at the above address.

Rachael Waters, 39, of Laurel Road, St Albans, was fined �200 plus �75 costs for using a television without a licence between December 20 and January 21 at the above address.

Theft

Nicholas Wood, 27, of Ellis Fields, St Albans, was ordered to carry out 100 hours unpaid community work and pay compensation of �101.93 and �85 costs after making off without paying for fuel in St Albans on May 16 and June 7.

Darius Viselga, 30, of Tavistock Avenue, St Albans, was fined �900 plus �415 costs for stealing a Peugeot mountain bike in St Albans on June 12 and being in possession of a small, wooden-handled dagger with a three-inch blade in St Albans High Street on the same date.

Craig Chalmers, 45, of Hill End Lane, St Albans, was ordered to carry out 200 hours unpaid community work, pay compensation of �470 and �85 costs for stealing a laptop worth �479 from Watford between October 9-31 and then selling it on October 31.
