Drugs offences

Justin Moore, 30, of Bricket Road, St Albans, was fined £80 plus £70 costs for possession of 7g of cannabis in St Albans on April 24.

Bradley Pilkington, 23, of Falmouth Court, St Albans, was given a six month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £15 costs for being in possession of a quantity of herbal cannabis in St Albans on February 25.

Howard Black, 48, of Bricket Road, St Albans, was fined £50 plus £20 costs for possession of a small amount of cannabis resin in St Albans on May 24.

Public order offences

Abdus Salam, 36, of Richard Stagg Close, St Albans, was fined £110 plus £105 costs for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or disorderly behaviour which was racially aggravated, in St Albans on May 15.

Hugh Docherty, 41, of Grindcobbe, St Albans, was fined £60 plus £105 costs for being drunk and disorderly in a public place, in Hemel Hempstead on May 21.

Multiple offences

Mark Alyson, 41, of Newgate Close, St Albans, was given a 24 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs for stealing men’s fragrances worth £132 from Boots the Chemist in St Albans on December 23, and fined £60 for cultivating six cannabis plants in St Albans on the same date. He was also made subject to a community order ordering him to reside at the above address from 9pm-5am on Saturdays and Sundays, and ordered to pay £50 compensation and £360 costs for assaulting a man in St Albans on December 28, and ordered to pay £20 compensation for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in St Albans on December 28, with the intention of causing harassment, alarm or distress. He was also given a 24 month discharge for stealing a men’s jacket worth £69.99 from TK Maxx in St Albans on March 15, and fined £50 plus £85 costs for being in possession of small bags of canabis in St Albans on April 16. Because he breached a suspended sentence imposed on January 16 for criminal damage on January 14 he was given an eight week prison sentence suspended for 18 months.

Breach of restraining order

El’Sayed Issa, 31, of Park Street Lane, Park Street, was fined £400 plus £125 costs for sending emails and texts in breach of a restraining order imposed on May 24, 2012, between March 25 and May 19, 2013 at St Albans.

Drink driving

Salvatore Difonzo, 26, of Beech Road, St Albans, was fined £140 plus £105 costs and banned from driving for 20 months after giving a breath specimen of 77mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath, in Harpenden Road, St Albans, on May 18.

Simon Pannell, 23, of Rickyard Meadow, Redbourn, was fined £360 plus £121 costs and was banned from driving for 18 months after giving a breath specimen of 68mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath, on the A414 North Orbital Road at Hatfield on May 23.

Tom Spavins, 21, of North Cottages, Napsbury, was fined £240 plus £109 costs and was banned from driving for 12 months after giving a breath specimen of 57mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath, in London Road, St Albans on May 25.

Fraud

James Sweeney, 28, of Coleswood Road, Harpenden, was committed to prison for 25 weeks and ordered to pay £1,852.50 compensation for dishonestly offering to sell Olympic badminton tickets on August 2, Paralympic opening ceremony tickets on August 29, Britfest tickets on September 21 and 22, Gary Barlow concert tickets on October 21, Justin Bieber concert tickets on February 10, and breaching an earlier suspended sentence for fraudulently offering to sell tickets he did not have between March 1-15 2012, November 19, 2011, February 14, 2011, on dates between March 11 and April 2, 2012, and March 1-20, 2012, all at Harpenden.

Rail fare evasion

Michael Boylan, 28, of Hudson Close, St Albans, was fined £200 plus £11 compensation and £140 costs for failing to hand over a ticket for inspection between Watford Junction at Euston on November 4.

Louise Demarco, 30, of Ramsey Lodge Court, St Albans, was fined £265 plus £111 costs and £11 compensation after travelling on a train beyond the distance paid for, at St Albans on February 11.

Alison Hewish, 21, of Whitford Road, St Albans, was fined £200 plus £140 costs and £5.50 compensation for failing to hand over a ticket for inspection at Welwyn North Station on January 12.

Assault

James Smallhorne, 26, of The Ridgeway, St Albans, was ordered to attend Drinkwise sessions for five days, pay £100 compensation and £685 costs for assault by beating in St Albans on March 16, and resisting a constable in the execution of her duty on the same date.

Criminal damage

Mark Barnard, 27, of Manor Road, London Colney, was fined £50 plus £100 compensation for damaging a large glazed door in London Colney on May 19, and a further £50 plus £100 compensation for damaging two keep left bollards worth £130 belonging to the Highways Agency on the same date, and fined £145 plus £70 costs and £50 compensation for assaulting a constable in the execution of her duty, also on the same date.

Theft

Dean Deegan, 31, of Watling Street, Radlett, was made subject to a community order until November 30 and ordered to pay £145 costs for stealing a pair of men’s shoes worth £19.99 from TK Maxx in St Albans on May 4, and two pairs of Rayban sunglasses worth £338 from Boots in St Albans on the same date.

Counterfeit money

Charles Paris, 19, of Church Street, Wheathampstead, was ordered to participate in a general offending behaviour programme for 30 days, carry out 75 hours unpaid community work, and pay costs of £145 after being found in possession of three counterfeit £20 notes at St Albans on February 20.

Motoring offences

Adeel Nawaz, 31, of Hatfield Road, St Albans, was fined £60 plus £20 costs and awarded three penalty points for speeding at 36mph along the 30mph A412 Richmansworth Road at Watford on October 15.

Paul Kinread, 32, of Fairfield Close, Radlett, was fined £135 plus £105 costs and awarded three penalty points for speeding at 36mph along the 30mph Shenley Road, Borehamwood, on October 5.

Ian Searle, 60, of Sopwell Lane, St Albans, was fined £115 plus £105 costs for not wearing a seat belt while driving along St Peter’s Street, St Albans, on December 19.
