COUNCIL ELECTIONS: First Green Party win

Simon Grover in St Peter’s has become the council’s first Green Party councillor with 751 votes. He came second in the ward in which two seats were up for grabs due to a by-election.

The winner was Conservative Alec Campbell with 795 votes, meaning both seats were losses for the Lib Dems.

Elsewhere, planning portfolio Chris Brazier holds Colney Heath comfortably for the Lib Dems while Lib Dem Iqbal Zia also holds Ashley.
