METAL thieves have struck at a building site in St Albans, stealing copper cabling and piping.

The burglary took place at a site in Hall Place Gardens, between 3pm on Saturday April 28 and 6am on Monday April 30.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and information about the incident.

Investigating officer PC Barry Eldridge said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have seen people on the site between these times to contact me with information. The offender(s) may have looked like builders however; there shouldn’t have been anyone on site during this period.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Eldridge via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
