Frontline services at St Albans district council will continue to be provided today (10) even though Unison members in local government and schools will be holding a one-day strike.

While other district and borough councils in Herts and the county council are expected to be face major disruption, Amanda Foley, St Albans council’s head of corporate services said that arrangements were in place to ensure that frontline services would continue to be provided even though there might be some strike action by Unison members.

She added: “The council offices at the Civic Centre, St Albans, will be open as normal from 8.45am to 5.15pm and we will be dealing with customer enquiries in person and over the phone.”

The strike is in protest at a one per cent pay offer this year.
