Police are appealing for assistance from the public to help trace Peter Watkinson, 38, of Windermere Avenue, who has not been seen since July 21.
Peter needs medication and his family are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.
He was last seen wearing a pale blue T shirt, navy blue jeans, zip-up Berghaus navy blue fleece jacket and grey walking style shoes.
He is white, around 6ft 4in tall and of medium build. He has thinning grey hair, brown eyes and a tanned complexion.
Peter is interested in water sports, particularly windsurfing, and may frequent lakes and sailing clubs.
Inspector Mark Caldicott, who is investigating Peter's disappearance, said: "Both police and Peter's family are growing more concerned for his welfare with each hour that passes. I would urge anyone with information on his whereabouts or who may have seen Peter to contact police as a matter of urgency."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0845 33 00 222.
