He has just released his second work of fiction in the past year with the publication of The Cinder In My Eye on Boxing Day.

Father of two Bikram, 46, who writes under the name B.J.S. Bal, works full time as an oral surgeon in London and St Albans and taps out his novels on his tablet during his daily commute.

His debut novel, Through Your Eyes, entered the top 40 most popular paid Kindle Books in three genres almost immediately after its release shortly after Christmas 2014.

The Cinder In My Eye looks into the truth about the ‘Sandman’ a myth within the armed forces whom no-one truly believed ever existed and if he had, would have died a long time ago.

The main protagonist, psychiatric nurse Dave Galpin, called to review one of his former patients, is contacted by the mysterious Lottie Hemming, the patient’s previous doctor, after tragedy happens.

He discovers astonishing secrets about his patient and his own past which pulls him into a complex web of violence and revenge - and demonstrates that the ‘Sandman’ had never really disappeared.

Bikram said, “I am very fortunate that through my work, I meet many people working in other healthcare specialities. The inspiration for this action thriller came from colleagues working in mental health.”

The Cinder In My Eye and Through Your Eyes are available to download from the Kindle store at www.amazon.co.uk at £1.99 for a limited period.
