Two Harpenden stalwarts have been commended for their work in the community.
Betty Russell and Gavin Ross both received awards of merit at the recent Harpenden town council annual meeting, which was attended by over 100 local residents.
Harpenden Mayor Cllr Rosemary Farmer presented the accolades to the pair, both members of the Harpenden Local Historical Society.
Betty received her award for more than a decade’s dedicated work on behalf of the group.
Gavin, the society’s chairman, said he regarded his award as a tribute to the efforts of fellow members as well.
