This year’s Free Comic Book Day proved a massive success for a St Albans store.
Stacks of free comics were given away at Chaos City Comics in Heritage Place as part of the annual event to promote the art form.
Now in its 15th year, FCBD aims to reach out to individuals unfamiliar with the comic book specialty market, not to mention their local comic book shop, by giving away special promotional issues of comics from a variety of publishers, covering different age groups and genres ranging from superheroes to comedy.
Manager Luke Ridge said: “This year was our biggest to date. The stock flew off the tables. Everyone went away happy and smiling and I’m sure we’ve started some new readers on their journey into comic books.”
