TRAFFIC is expected to be especially heavy in and around Harpenden tomorrow (Wednesday) when the annual Classics on the Common takes place and up to 1,300 cars and motorbikes are expected.

Police have warned of possible delays from early afternoon into the evening in both directions on the A1081 St Albans to Harpenden road and on the Luton Road from Junction 10A of the M1 through the town.

In addition part of West Common will be closed to northbound traffic between 3pm and 10pmn from Rothamsted Experimental Station to the Fire Station.

Free parking will be available in all the town's car parks for those going to the event.
