A community centre has reopened after a burst pipe caused flood damage at the end of last year.
The Greenwood Park Community Centre was shut following the incident in the early hours of December 21.
Only the sports hall was spared in the flood and contractors started renovation work after the building had dried out in mid-January which included a new kitchen, replacement flooring and decoration to most areas.
While the centre was shut, the parish council also took the opportunity to replace the ceiling and lighting in the Orton Hall to improve the acoustics.
The centre reopened on January 31 and the parish council have thanked their staff – including the groundsman who spent the entire night sweeping the water out – for their support and the customers for their cooperation during the closure.
