CHILDREN are being encouraged to take part in the last of a string of play schemes designed to keep them active during the school holidays.
A dedicated team of 20 play and sports coaches have been visiting many of the district's parks and open spaces this summer to get children involved in physical activity, along with arts and crafts at some sites.
The popular sessions are being run by the sport and health development team provided by St Albans district council and managed in partnership with Leisure Connection.
St Albans Mayor, Councillor Chris Oxley recently visited a session in Clarence Park.
He said: "The activities are proving to be a huge success with some locations seeing 200 youngsters on any one day enjoying the wide range of activities."
