A CHARITY shop is asking people to make a New Year resolution to declutter and donate their unwanted items.
Scope in the Maltings Shopping Centre in St Albans relies heavily on the generosity of local people to donate good-quality stock so that it can generate income for its work with disabled people.
British households are thought to hoard £4 billion worth of quality goods that they never use and Scope is appealing for people to donate some of those items.
Sarah Walker, area manager for Scope, said: "For the New Year, why not have a root around in your wardrobes, cupboards or the attic and see what you no longer need. And rather than throw out unloved goods, why not drop off at our Scope store in St Albans."
She added: "With every donation you are helping us make a real difference to the lives of disabled people, allowing us to continue running schools, adult services, the Scope Response helpline and our campaigning for disabled people to achieve equality.
