A charity foundation which was set up in memory of a St Albans pupil has hit its fundraising target of £250,000.

The Oli Mills Foundation (OMF) was officially set up in 2016, following 10 years of fundraising in memory of 18-year-old Oli Mills, a pupil at Verulam School.

Oli died from a brain tumour in 2005, and was treated on a ward at the Royal Free Hospital alongside much older patients. His family decided to support Teenage Cancer Trust to help young people like Oli, and have now raised £250,000 for the charity. Oli’s brother Eddie Mills said: “We’re so thrilled to have raised £250,000 for such an amazing charity and are looking forward to seeing where the next stage of our journey takes us. Some people who support us were lucky enough to know Oli and some are simply inspired by what we have achieved together. Right now, Teenage Cancer Trust can only help half of young people with cancer, so we’re determined to keep up the good work.”
