A WALK around the proposed new forest site in Sandridge will be held this weekend.

The Woodland Trust will be showing locals the extent of the project and asking them for their views on issues such as access during the walk on Saturday which will start at 10am and finish at 12.30pm.

Those wishing to take part are asked to meet at the car park alongside Sandridge Village Hall in the High Street and the walk will be followed by an optional lunch at the Green Man pub.

The walk is free but donations to the Woodland Trust would be welcomed and anyone wanting more details should contact Pam Farley on 01727 864871.

If planted, the project will be the largest new native forest in England, spanning more than 850 acres and containing 600,000 trees.
