CELEBRITY chef Gino D'Acampo has taken a break from his Radlett food supply business to face up to his fears in the Australian jungle.

The Italian-born chef held a water spider in his mouth for 30 seconds as part of his first bush-tucker trial in the hit ITV show I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! which kicked off last night (Sunday).

Gino, who owns Italian ingredient supply company Bont Italia in Aldenham Road, Radlett, also had to submerse his face in a tank of water worms and keep his head in a plastic helmet filled with spiders.

He spent a night on an island with fellow contestant Samantha Fox, former glamour girl and pop star, after they both drew the short straws and started their challenge a day earlier than the other celebs.

They won nine out of 11 possible stars in a bid to secure beds and food for the group's first night in the jungle.

The pair then joined their fellow contestants, who include Hollywood superstar George Hamilton, snooker champion Jimmy White, TV cleaner Kim Woodburn and former Mystique singer Sabrina Washington.

Tonight's (Monday) show is expected to feature former I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Katie Price, aka Jordan, joining the group in a return to the jungle.
