SIR John Lawes School has been celebrating some of their best ever individual GCSE grades this week.
Among the many success stories at the Harpenden school, 21 students achieved straight A*s and A grades in their results.
Many of the students with top grades had also passed additional AS exams last week as part of the school's fast-track programme.
Mark Roe, head of Year 11, said: "Students of all abilities have done even better than expected. This has been a fantastic group of young people to work with and they really deserve these great results.
