A 50-year-old Redbourn housing project has held a cream tea ahead of its closing.
The event held at Christchurch, Fish Street, marked the closure of the Redbourn Missionary Trust which opened in 1967 to provide affordable homes for missionaries.
It is being sold to fund elderly care by the Pilgrims Friend Society who have owned Redbourn Missionary Trust since 2010.
Seventy people attended the event on May 11. The grandson of the founder gave a talk about the project in its early days.
The five homes in Harding Close house missionary families coming back from overseas.
Housing warden Sue Pratt said: "The cream tea, singing, sharing of memories and the prayers for the future made it a great afternoon. We thank God for all that is past and trust Him for all that is to come."
