Archant

This is a photo of a woman police are searching for in connection with a bar brawl on News Years Day.

She may have seen a 20-year-old man being punched in the face in St Albans’ The Snug on January 1 at about 1.40am.

They would like to speak to her about what happened.

Anyone who recognises the woman should contact PC James Keene on james.keene2@herts.pnn.police.uk quoting crime reference F1/18/7, call 101, or contact charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Crimestoppers operate anonymously - no personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and there will never be a summons to court.

I should probably have taken the hint! Walking out into the garden recently an unprecedented flock of thirty or more crows raucously greeted me from the treetops at the bottom of my garden. Cawing and croaking these big, black birds clung clumsily to the top most branches and twigs, jostling and flapping to stay balanced in a constant flurry of feathers. There is always something ominous about crows – they are after all carrion crows, the vultures of the bird world – always watching for scraps and weakness that might mean their next meal.
