POLICE have just released CCTV stills of a man they want to speak to in relation to the theft of a Mercedes.
The owner had advertised the silver 320 model and arranged to meet who he thought was a potential buyer at Radlett Golf Club on Friday, January 15.
The culprit asked to carry out a test drive and they drove to Old Parkbury Lane in Colney Street where they stopped to look at the exhaust. While the victim was at the back of the car, the thief jumped in the vehicle and drove off towards Radlett, at around 12.40pm.
Detective Sergeant Jason Finnegan is investigating the incident and said: “I would like to speak with the man shown in the CCTV images. It may be that he was a witness to the crime and can offer assistance in the investigation.”
Anyone with information should contact police on the non-emergency number 0845 3300222 or, alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
