Two men were taken to hospital yesterday with suspected stab wounds after police were called to near St Albans city centre.

The police were called at 2.40am yesterday to reports of a disturbance on Catherine Street and found two men in their 20s with possible stab wounds. They were taken to hospital, but their injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made.

Det Con Claire Mann said: “Thankfully the men were not more seriously injured during the incident. We are currently working to establish the circumstances around what happened and trace those involved.

“I am appealing for anyone who saw the incident, or events leading up it, to please get in contact.”
