POLICE have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a cash card fraud offence, which took place in Harpenden last month.
On Wednesday February 29, at around 10.15am, a 90-year-old woman was getting into her car in Waitrose Car Park, Leyton Road, when she was approached by a man who engaged her in conversation.
A short while later the lady’s cash card was used, without her knowledge, at Barclays Bank in the High Street in Harpenden and a large amount of money was withdrawn.
Investigating Officer PC Ann Marie Owen said: “We would like to hear from anyone who thinks they may recognise the man in the CCTV footage. We would like to speak to him in connection with this crime – he may have vital information which could help this case.”
Anyone who recognises this man should contact police via the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
